Beginner Sewing Course – 6 Weeks

Already tried the Sewing Machine Taster or ready to build your skills further? This six-week beginner course is the next step.

Designed for beginners, the course teaches sewing step by step in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Over six weeks you will learn how to:

• read and use simple sewing patterns

• sew strong seams and finish edges neatly

• insert zips and simple fastenings

• build confidence using a sewing machine

You'll complete a series of practical projects while developing the skills needed to start making your own clothes, accessories and home items.

Small class sizes mean plenty of individual guidance, so everyone can progress at their own pace.

Machines are available to use, or you can bring your own.

Many students continue afterwards by joining the Friday Sewing Club to keep developing their skills and working on their own projects.
