Sewing Machine Taster

Always wanted to learn to sew but not sure where to start?

This relaxed 90-minute beginner workshop will take you from complete beginner to confidently sewing your first stitches.

During the session you'll learn:

• how a sewing machine works

• how to thread and set it up

• how to control the speed and sew straight

• how to sew simple seams

By the end you'll leave with a finished project you’ve made yourself. Choose to make either:

• a cushion cover with a cushion pad, or

• a lined tote bag

You can also personalise your project with appliqué, a pocket or decorative stitching.

Machines and materials are provided and no experience is necessary.

Many people start with the Sewing Machine Taster before moving on to the six-week sewing course and later joining the Friday Sewing Club.
