Date/Time: Thursday 21st August 2026 at 09:30am - 12:30pm (3hrs)
Step back to 1885 and spend the morning training as a Victorian sewing apprentice. Receive your apprentice papers, learn traditional sewing skills and discover what life was like for children in Victorian Britain. Apprentices will make their own Victorian-style apron, learn basic embroidery techniques, stitch their initials and create a framed sampler to take home.
Throughout the session, children will earn Victorian pennies for perseverance, careful work and helping others before graduating with an official Apprentice Certificate.
If time allows, apprentices may take on the Promotion Challenge and earn their place as an Apprentice Dressmaker by creating a Victorian mop cap.
